The Knit Light might be well-known to all of you (and why didn't you mention it?) but I've just found it. Order is placed and I am already wondering how long it will take to arrive.

I never heard of it either. I have a lighted magnifying glass that hangs around the neck. I used to use it when I did a lot of counted cross stitch but it was a bit clunky. That little light looks small enough to not get in the way. Great idea!
I love knitting gadgets and tools, too!
I have one of those natural lights hanging over my needlework chair. Not only can I see the individual dark stitches in knitting, but I can also see white on white needlepoint.
For Christmas Hal bought me a pin that holds knitting/crocheting tools - a bejeweled row counter, and several jeweled stitch markers. He even got me a small pair of scissors on a zip cord (bejeweled, or course), so I don't have to keep hunting for them.
I have the same problem with dark colors and this light looks like it is a great help.
